Today we are doing a Iolite Vaporizer Review. As with most vaporizers, the Iolite is designed for a specific purpose and that purpose is for portable use so you should know this before you buy iolite. This portable butane vaporizer is powered by butane, a very cool feature that all the iolite vaporizer reviews are talking about but more on this later. Let’s start this Iolite review by talking cold hard facts.
This is a high end portable vaporizer in the $200 range. It fits in the palm of your hand. It is 2.8 ounces heavy so it weights less then most cell phones. It is a direct inhalation unit and is made in Ireland by a company called Oglesby & Butler which actually has decades of experience working with butane related products so that is a big plus. The Iolite Vaporizer came out in 2008 and was toted as having an exclusive flameless gas catalytic converter that was the first of its kind on the market. There are multiple colors available of this model so don’t worry if you aren’t a fan of the black.
In terms of the actual use, it is pretty simple and of course if you buy one it comes with instructions (and even illustrations) so there will be no confusion. You turn the unit on via the toggle switch and the orange temperature light will stay lit until the correct temperature is reached. When you are done, you simply flip the switch and the unit cools down completely in about 4 minutes. The unit comes with a zippered bag which is nice and keeps it clean and protected when on the go.
Ok, so the way this works with the butane is as follows. there is a internal heating element which is in a isolated chamber which lets the butane heat up the vaporizer. It takes anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes for it to heat up. Each butane canister provides about two hours of vaporizing and the canisters are very cheap and can be bought at many stores. One important note, always use high quality butane like Vector, otherwise you won’t get the results you want. This is very important.
This vaporizer has the option of purchasing a Comfort Care Package which is their fancy name for a 12 inch tool which basically lengthens the air distance, which allows the vapor to cool down even more then it already is before being inhaled.
As with most higher end vaporizers, this unit comes with a two year warranty, though it is restricted to normal use. So if you throw it against the wall and it breaks, your out of luck.
The big plus of this unit is it’s lack of cords/batteries. One of the major problems with the portable vaporizer market is almost all of the units require either batteries or cords. Both have their downfalls. The batteries take a long time to charge and often don’t last as long as you’d like before having to be re-charged. By using butane, which as we said can be easily purchased, you don’t have to be annoyed with worrying about running out of power. This point is made in countless other Iolite vaporizer reviews.
The unit comes with all the necessary tools and screens, as it should for being a higher end vaporizer. The tools and parts are of good quality. Again, a point made in many other Iolite reviews.
Overall, I was very impressed with this unit and wouldn’t hesitate to suggest to someone that they buy Iolite (assume it is appropriate for their own situation of course).The quality of the vapor and the overall functionality of the unit was on part with its price tag, and I enthusiastically put it in the coveted BMW range quality wise.
I actually kept this unit for myself (usually give away tester units) because it really fit me well and in terms of a high quality but small portable unit, this is legit. Even if you are sure this unit is the one you want, I suggest you still read my wispr vaporizer review because that is the current newest portable model available from the Iolite company and while it is more expensive, it is pretty cool. Bottom line, buy iolite vaporizer if you want a quality portable unit, but don’t wanna throw down the extra money to get a Wispr.
