WISPR Portable Vaporizer

What is The Best Portable Vaporizer?

by v8vantage on January 15, 2012

People often ask me for my opinion on the best portable vaporizer, so I made a list of some of the best options in the portable market.  It’s hard to name one specific portable vaporizer because different people have different needs.  Some want a small, stealth vaporizer while others are less concerned about size and more about quality.  Let’s go over a few different options and you will be able to determine which is the most appropriate for your needs. Being that we are into a new year, this article will also cover the best portable vaporizer 2012.

wispr vaporizer reviewDepending on your preference, the best portable vaporizer for you is most likely going to be either the WISPR Vaporizer ($270 pictured left) or the Arizer Solo Vaporizer ($229 pictured right).   Both units had been in the same price range, but Arizer has been on sale through VapeWorld at $229 for a while. Both delivery an extremely potent and high quality vapor that is unmatched in the portable vaporizer field.

The WISPR is a new compact portable vaporizer made by the same company as the Iolite.  It uses butane which is super easy to add, but you do have to fill it regularly and while Butane isn’t expensive, it is something to keep in mind.  Be sure to only use good butane that is at tripple refined or better.    The WISPR is a all in one unit where the whip folds into the unit itself for transportation. It also fits into your pocket, as long as you aren’t wearing tight jeans.

The Arizer Solo on the other hand has a glass whip, which is the best material to use for a whip.  It has a rechargeable battery instead of butane, so at the end of the day you just plug it in to charge. The Arizer also has individual temperature settings which is a nice feature.   The taste you get when using the Arizer is so pure, it is quite impressive.  You taste only the herb you are using and nothing else.

Arizer and WISPR Rating by v8vantage: 4.5 stars ****1/2

Now lets go over some cheaper options for the Best Portable Vaporizer:

Magic Flight Launch Box-  ($119)  This gets the award for smallest and cheapest vaporizer that is actually a real vaporizer, and falls into the handheld (or sub compact if we are using the car comparison) group.   Many people complain on line with the overall quality of the vapor as compared to a at home unit, but this isn’t a fair comparison to make when you try to compare it to a $300+ unit.   The fact of the matter is there aren’t any other vaporizers that are this small both in size and price, so it certainly has the market share when it comes to the stealth compact division.  For $100 you have a tiny but very functional vaporizer without breaking the bank.  Don’t expect a Ferrari at this price, but it gets the job done and is worth a look if your budget is low.

Vapir N02 Vaporizer-  ($179) Unlike the Vapir One 5.0, the Vapir N02 is football fields better.  This is a standard portable unit meaning it would be a bit awkward keeping it in your pocket, and certainly can’t be concealed in your hand.  The similarities end there however.  This unit produces a very high quality vapor and we were very impressed with the results, as was Willy Nelson.  Certainly a high end portable vaporizer.

Iolite Vaporizer-($179)  Like the Vapir N02, the Iolite Vaporizer is a higher end portable unit, but this vaporizer is borderline between compact and portable.  If you have big hands you could potentially fit this in your had easily, and in your pocket as well.  This is the unit that was replaced with the WISPR which is why you can get it for significantly less .

Just got the wispr. Love it! It corrects the things about the Iolite that drive me crazy. The Wispr is easy to fill, very easy to turn on (my Iolite was a total pain to get going) and there’s even a see-through panel for the butane chamber so that you can easily see how much butane is in the chamber. It vapes well and gives me a nice cloud of vaped herb.

I wouldn’t say it’s smaller than the Iolite, but proportioned differently. A little thicker but shorter. Doesn’t look like a vaporizer at all! It’s fantastic and I highly recommend the Wispr.

In my opinion, and I’m a medical marijuana user, my vote is the Vapir NO 2. I have used several other vaporizing sources but the Vapir is the one. The cheapest vaporizer is the Vapor Genie line, under $60′s.
Anyway, the Vapir NO2, you won’t be going wrong.
